Echoes of Presence
Originally published on Novisali.com, November 2025
Echoes of Presence is a poetic exploration by Novisali (Liselotte Engstam) of how light, shadow, and memory shape the quiet outlines of human experience. The exhibition weaves together photography and digitally transformed watercolor art, creating layered silhouettes that feel both fleeting and deeply familiar.
Key insights from the exhibition include:
• The silhouette as memory — Each work captures presence not through detail, but through contour and suggestion, echoing something once felt or yet to come.
• A dialogue between mediums — Photography and digital art merge into composite images where the moment meets imagination.
• Time as a quiet storyteller — Shadows, gestures and subtle traces invite viewers into reflection on what lingers beyond the visible.
• Art as a space of stillness — The pieces encourage slowing down, sensing the in-between, and meeting the silent shapes of presence within ourselves.
The invitation is clear:
Pause, look closer, and let the silhouettes speak.
